We have a busy and wonderfully opportune year ahead. Action will be at the centre of it all and the element of Earth. Less spiritual and more ‘in life’ type of energy. More presence and being with what arises day by day. Involvement, participation, networking and connection.

Energies will call for paying close attention to signals in your body, thinking, behavioural impulses, spiritual callings and emotional ups and downs. All that information is going to help you stick to your centre.

  • Solidify your values and beliefs
  • Possibility of raptures and ‘wars’ external and internal
  • Prepare to be confused. Many factors are going to be put in place to challenge your relationships and throw you off-balance in order to catch you up in ideas NOT beneficial for the collective. One has got to start with the personal, however, in order to stay safe and grow strong when collective strikes, so to speak.
  • Asserting your voice

Speaking up will become more important than ever whether it is in your close relationships or in dynamics outside of your home. Colour blue will be coming forward in its presentation. Noticing it in your reality will serve as a reminder to use your voice. Being clear about your intentions and goals will be important so that you are not thrown off course you are meant to be on and also for those unsure of their course allow the blow to come, which will bring clarity and a sense of direction. Scary it may be, but surrendering to a challenge can be beneficial.

  • Work ethic will get into question. Decide how you are with work in general and what working means for you. There’s a real chance to become conscious of actions linked to your unique life purpose.
  • Putting down roots will be another aspect open for exploration in 2019. Where’s your true home and what does it mean to feel ‘at home’ for you? Grounding in the Earth will be important and all things Earth element – home, finances, work, body.
  • Making life decisions and being brave are the factors supported by the energy next year. Take the opportunity to align with what you always wanted to do and just do it. There’s enough learning and thinking that’s been done, now it is time to put things in place for the future.

And finally the big one – what is your reality currently? Can you define it? Is it ok as it is or are you ready to evolve further? This is something I will talk more of in one of my future posts.

Autumn’s breath

Air fills with chilling promise of glorious explosion of moist spider webs in the morning and vibrant colours of the land. Its breath is fresh, slightly biting to the skin, similar to that in early spring, the time my soul also adores. Autumn is an Earth element season for me. It is the time when I feel profoundly grateful for all the bounty and abundance the earth provided us with. Its delicious produce carries a reminiscent flavour of hot summer days, in which fruit, berries and vegetables busked in ripening to their fullest. It reminds me that we sowed and we reaped, we sorted through the waste and abundance and took stock of what we are to carry forward with us into the darker part of the year. I feel autumn is the beginning of an introspection journey, incubation and cooking in the cauldron of psychic material and shadow work. I look forward to darkness, to me it is comforting. Cold air is not just refreshing to my senses it puts me in touch with my body and how freely and much more easily it can breathe with less sun.

I begin to burn oils carrying scents of cinnamon, frankincense and orange. It is woody, smoky and rich scents that take my preference at this time of the year. Candles are lit more frequently and my time at my altar increases, as my enthusiasm for life returns to my soul and body.

Space vs enclosure

The debate started within me after my last visit to Scotland when one week I spent in the North with vast open spaces, wilderness mountains and the sea and the other week was spent in a tiny cottage in the woods. You can read about my experiences HERE.
What I thought I preferred turned out to be something else and I was asked to consider other ways and it was a challenge.
Recently after spending a whole day in the woods and ‘overdosing’ on nature but not in a good way I was reminded of my experience in Scotland. It made me think further about spaces, my preferences and how things are changing for me as I continue on my healing and spiritual journey.

How love heals…

How love heals

Through the body, senses and heart space love heals

As he lays his head on her trembling chest she melts into the knowing of peace, calm and softness

Her sobs subside under the grounding energy of him

Her love ripples out as she receives love

the flow begins from one heart to another

They lay in unison of their connection

Deep, solid, ever lasting

As he lays his head on her chest

They join in union of sacred love

Working with the Elements

I learnt to apply elemental wisdom to my every day activities, the way I think, feel and behave. A certain system has been formed in my awareness based on the four elements. It happened through continuous observation of nature it all its forms and presentations. It seems to go like this:

When I am in my Air element my thinking is engaged. I focus on my thoughts in a given moment and go through them deciding an action or making a plan.

Out of a thought comes a certain feeling, emotional response to what my mind is presenting. The more I focus on a thought the more I feel. I engage my Water function. Some emotions are not pleasant and my Fire might come in to inform me whether to act or not, whether my Fire is to be dynamic, productive and needed or is simply a response to a thought, which is not something I want to engage with. Fire is the necessary part of the process as an alchemical operation of burning something to clarity, purifying something till its purpose is revealed. I am given a choice in this part of the process. I choose whether I trust my feeling and therefore the original thought it is connected to will serve me or I recognise its nature as something that needs to be put aside or healed.
After a thought and a feeling with engagement of Fire comes behaviour. Next comes manifestation, the doing of what once was only a thought form. The Earth element is needed here and I test myself on how ready I am to hold the energy of the thought and emotion and how confident I am about bringing it to life. Earth is holding, strong, calm and reassuring and when engaged is a powerful tool to help us manifest.

So that’s how the process goes in a form of a system. With practice similar to certain psychotherapeutic approaches one not only can become aware of their thoughts but how they make us feel and behave. Nature is a powerful tool to use along the same lines yet so much deeper as nature serves as a witness to our process engaging all of our senses.

Ever feel that you are being pulled into water when what’s needed is to stay grounded? Nature is clever like that it tests by giving us options and challenges our choices whether it is to act, feel or behave in a certain way, a bit like a therapist might.

The other day consumed by worrying thoughts, which were producing powerful emotions in me ,I found myself by the water. I needed to decide what’s next, am I to manifest my state or am I in need to look at it further before making a choice.
As I stood on the bank of a lake between Water and Earth I saw my dilemma clearly. Do I jump into my feelings and get consumed by them or do I remain on firm Earth and allow myself to be held together. There was anger, sadness, frustration all emotions with an undertone of Fire. I made a decision to transmute it back to the Earth through holding on to trees allowing them to balance things out within me. I left more together, composed and with awareness of what was happening within me that morning.
